Job Overview & Description

BCD TRANSPORT INC is looking for an experienced Fleet Supervisor to join our team on-site in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The selected candidate will supervise truck drivers, coordinate fleet operations, arrange required maintenance services, enforce safety and compliance standards, and support smooth motor transport operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of 5 to 10 long-haul and short-haul truck drivers engaged in freight transportation operations.
  • Establish daily work methods, assign drivers to routes and loads, coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, and communicate with dispatch and management to ensure timely freight movement.
  • Monitor driver routes, delivery timelines, equipment availability, and road/transit issues; resolve operational problems such as delays, breakdowns, route changes, and missed delivery windows.
  • Ensure drivers comply with company policies, National Safety Code standards, Hours of Service requirements, ELD procedures, pre-trip/post-trip inspection requirements, and other applicable safety protocols.
  • Train new and existing drivers on job duties, company procedures, safety requirements, vehicle inspection procedures, load documentation, and reporting expectations.
  • Requisition fleet maintenance services, repair work, vehicle parts, fuel cards, safety supplies, and other operational materials required for safe and efficient fleet operations.
  • Review driver logbooks, ELD records, trip sheets, bills of lading, inspection reports, incident reports, and maintenance records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare operational reports for management, including driver performance, route efficiency, safety compliance, maintenance issues, and fleet activity summaries.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, training, performance improvement, discipline, promotions, or driver scheduling changes.

Employment Requirements

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of related experience in trucking operations/fleet supervision is required.

  • Language: English

  • Work Conditions: On-site location; work must be completed at the physical facility in Saskatoon, SK (no remote option).
