Carpenter

Metro Doors & Woodworking is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Position: Carpenter
Location: 5220 General Road, Mississauga, ON L4W 1G8
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: $37.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Work Location: On-site
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties

Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.
Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and materials according to measurements.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors and mouldings.
Build frameworks, including partitions, joints, studding, and rafters.
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
Lay out flooring, roofing, and drywall ensuring a level surface.
Use hand tools and power tools and shape, cut and install building materials.
Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to full grasp requirements.
Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks and props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
Supervise other workers and guide them according to the work requirement.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Secondary school graduation certificate.
3 to 5 years of relevant carpentry experience.
Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and construction methods.
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable, accurate, and safety-conscious.
Ability to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding work.
Criminal record check may be required.

Working Conditions

The position involves a physically demanding workload, handling heavy materials, working under tight deadlines, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts as required.
