Job Description:
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities of electricians, apprentices, helpers and other electrical workers assigned to residential, commercial and other electrical projects.
• Review project requirements, drawings, electrical plans and specifications and coordinate the electrical work required for each project.
• Assign electricians and other workers to specific jobs and establish work schedules to ensure projects are completed within required timelines.
• Establish work methods and procedures to meet project schedules and coordinate electrical activities
• Monitor the progress of electrical installations and ensure that work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, applicable electrical codes and project requirements.
• Inspect completed and ongoing electrical work to identify deficiencies, quality issues and safety concerns and arrange for corrective measures where required.
• Resolve day-to-day electrical work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, work quality and project efficiency.
• Determine the materials, equipment, tools and supplies required for electrical projects and requisition or coordinate their procurement.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure that electricians have the required tools, equipment and materials to complete assigned work.
• Supervise the installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, control devices and related electrical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to electricians, apprentices, helpers and other electrical workers within the scope of the position.
• Train workers and arrange for training relating to electrical work methods,
• Monitor employees' compliance with company safety procedures and ensure that safe working conditions are maintained at job sites.
• Provide recommendations to management regarding the hiring, promotion, performance management, and disciplinary actions of electrical staff.
• Monitor employee attendance, work assignments and productivity and report significant issues to company management.
• Prepare reports related to work-progress, materials and other documentation relating to electrical projects.
• Communicate project status, workforce requirements, material requirements and work-related issues to GK Electricals management.
• Assist management with planning labour requirements and allocating electrical personnel among current and upcoming projects.
