Work Schedule: 40-60 Hours/ week, Monday to Friday, weekends as per operational needs

Compensation & Benefits
Wage: $24.50/Hourly, Payable bi-weekly
Vacation Pay & Leave: Vacation pay, calculated at 4% of gross wages, will be included on each pay cheque in accordance with employment standards, plus statutory holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Carry out welding, metal fabrication, and repair work on structural steel, construction materials, heavy machinery, and various metal components used in the company’s projects and operations.
2. Examine measurements, work orders, sketches, and drawings to determine the required materials, dimensions, positioning, and fabrication requirements before starting an assignment.
3. Prepare metal components by measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, drilling, cleaning, and fitting materials to the required size and configuration.
4. Set up and operate SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding equipment, selecting appropriate electrodes, wire, shielding gas, and welding settings according to the material and repair or fabrication requirements.
5. Fabricate and assemble metal frames, supports, brackets, guards, reinforcements, and other components used in construction work, equipment repairs, and company projects.
6. Perform welding repairs on construction and excavation equipment, including damaged, cracked, or worn metal components, by preparing the affected area and completing the necessary welds.
7. Modify and reinforce existing metal structures and equipment components where required to support construction, maintenance, repair, or operational needs.
8. Use angle grinders, cutting torches, drills, welding tools, and other hand and power tools to shape, prepare, weld, and finish metal materials.
9. Position and secure metal pieces using appropriate clamps, fixtures, and measuring tools to achieve proper alignment and fit before welding.
10. Examine completed welds and fabricated pieces for proper alignment, strength, fit, and visible imperfections, making adjustments or rework where necessary.
11. Complete welding and fabrication tasks at residential, commercial, construction, and equipment-related work sites, coordinating with supervisors, equipment operators, and other crew members.
12. Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of welding machines, tools, and related equipment to keep them in safe and usable working conditions.
13. Follow established workplace and construction-site safety procedures when handling welding equipment, compressed gases, hot metal, cutting tools, and heavy equipment, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
