- Schedule: Morning, day, evening, night, weekends and shifts; overtime required
Job Responsibilities
- Greet customers, present menus and provide recommendations on traditional Indian dishes, appetizers, tandoori specialties, curries, breads and beverages.
- Explain menu items, ingredients, spice levels, portion sizes and daily specials to assist customers with their food and beverage selections.
- Take customers' food and beverage orders accurately, including dietary preferences, spice-level requests and special instructions, and relay orders to kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve freshly prepared Indian meals, including tandoori dishes, vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, biryani, naan, rice and accompanying beverages.
- Inform customers about vegetarian options, common food allergens and available menu modifications, confirming special dietary requests with kitchen staff.
- Recommend suitable appetizers, side dishes, traditional Indian beverages and desserts to complement customers' meals.
- Present bills, process payments through cash, debit cards and credit cards, and provide receipts.
- Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, and prepare dining areas for incoming customers.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, complaints and concerns to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Coordinate with kitchen and other service staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages during busy dining periods
Employment Requirements
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
- Experience: Previous experience is an asset but not mandatory.
- Language: English.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
