Job Title:Butcher (NOC 6331)

Terms of Employment:30-40 hours per week, Full-time/Permanent

Start Date:As Soon As Possible

Wage: $19.00-$21.00per hour (Depending on experience)

Job Duties:

• Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, poultry, fish and shellfish for sale at self-serve counters or according to customers' orders
• Remove bones from meat.
• Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
• Prepare special displays of meat, poultry, fish and shellfish
• Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats, poultry or fish
• Wrap prepared meats, poultry, fish and shellfish
• Manage inventory in the meat shop by keeping records of daily, weekly and monthly inventory and sales   
• Determine amount of produce is required for product line and ensure the freshness of products according to company’s requirements and health standards
• Ensure food storage conditions are adequate

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: No Formal Education

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience of meat cutting is required.

***Candidates who have completed any college or other meat-and-fish-cutting training programs or meat cutting apprenticeship will be considered with 1 year or less experience

Language: Functional English

Personal Suitability: Team leader, organized, flexibility, ability to supervise staff members, Reliability.

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: fast-paced environment, attention to detail, ability to handle under pressure situations, handling heavy loads, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to work in cold refrigerated environments
