ORIGINAL ASTAAD JI INDIAN CUISINE Ltd. (DBA: USTAAD G Indian Cuisine) is well known for its authentic Flavors and hospitality located in Surrey, BC. We are looking for a “Cook” to join our team.

Position: Cook

Terms of employment: Permanent / Full Time

Vacancy: 2                

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: C$26.50/ hr.; 40 hours per week

Language: Basic English is a requirement

Education: Secondary (High) School Graduation.

Location: 9436 120 St, Surrey, BC V3V 4B9

Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of experience as a cook.

Cook will have to perform all of these duties:

• Prepare and cook complete ethnic Indian cuisine dishes such as variety of chicken, goat, vegetarian etc.
• Stock inventory required to make tandoori items appropriately.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation/hygiene regulations
• Clean up station and store leftover food in appropriate conditions
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
• Must be able Work without supervision
• Oversee all kitchen operations to ensure smooth service
• Keep a track of the food stocks and other supplies, and maintain inventory according to avoid any disruptions in service
• Assist in planning menus, determining the size of food portions, estimating food requirements and costs, and monitoring and ordering supplies as per the requirement
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen area
• May set up and oversee buffets.
• Coordinate, manage and train other kitchen staff and helpers.
• May have to train the helper in plate presentation.
• Clean kitchen are and all equipments after the service is over.

Additional Skills:

Must have at least secondary school qualification, Candidate must be reliable and have a passion for cooking. Be able to work in kitchen for extended hours. Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Repetitive tasks; Attention to detail
