Location: Concord, ON L4K 4M3
Salary: $65.50 per hour for 35 hours per week
Overtime:1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing financial strategies and goals in alignment with the overall organizational objectives.
- Overseeing the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Analyzing economic data and providing insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation.
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
- Assessing and managing financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks. Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Overseeing cash flow management, working capital optimization, and investment activities. Managing relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
- Managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, billing, collections, and payroll. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with financial laws, regulations, and internal policies. Implementing internal controls and audit processes.
- Leading and developing the finance team. Setting performance goals, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as executives, department heads, and board members, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial advisors.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, communication, or an equivalent discipline is crucial for this job.
- Significant professional experience of minimum of 5 years or more is required to qualify for this General Manager Finance role. This may include experience in financial communication, business services, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying complex financial information to clients, stakeholders, and team members. The ability to develop clear and compelling communication strategies is highly valued.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Access, and MS Excel, with a strong understanding of their user-friendly features, is essential.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage financial resources effectively. This includes budgeting, financial analysis, financial planning, and cash flow management.
- The capacity to think strategically and align financial goals with the overall organizational objectives. This involves developing financial strategies, identifying growth opportunities, and making sound financial decisions.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data, identifying trends, and extracting meaningful insights. Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills help in making informed decisions and supporting financial planning and forecasting.
- The capability to address challenges, mitigate risks, and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Proficiency in financial reporting standards and regulations.
- The capacity to adapt to changing financial environments, industry trends, and organizational priorities. Being able to lead and manage change initiatives within the finance function is important.
- Upholding high ethical standards and integrity in financial decision-making and handling sensitive financial information. Demonstrating honesty, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical practices is essential.
