Requirements:
- Completion of High School is required.
- No experience required. On job training will be provided. Any previous experience would be considered as asset.
- Basic Knowledge of English Language
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A) or Equivalent, or eligible to obtain the same., Air Brake (Z) Endorsement required.
Compensation Package:
- Our drivers would be paid at $27.60/hr. for 50 hours per week and Overtimes at $41.40/hr. after every 60 hrs. per week.
- 2 Weeks paid vacation or 4% of Basic Salary
- 5 Days of sick leave per year
- Other benefits as per BC Employment standards act.
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials to their destination.
- Loading and unloading of goods.
- Ensuring the safety of Cargo.
- Must be able to do emergency road side repair if required.
- Be in touch with dispatcher to update the status of dispatch.
- Oversee the condition of vehicles before starting the route.
- Plan travel schedules and routes.
- Make sure all paper work is completed.
- Record cargo information such as fuel consumed and distance travelled.
- Must be able to drive as a part two-person team.
- Must be able to driver for long-haul
