Job Duties
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from work sites
• Setting up site and clean up at the beginning and end of each day
• Prepare, clean, tape and sand surfaces to be painted
• Protecting the material by applying protective coverings, such as masking tape to the objects that could be damaged or stained by work processes
• Protection and moving of furniture, floors, and other pieces of the structure that do not need paint
• Sanding or sandblasting surfaces to remove the old paint, coating surfaces so that they better hold the paint
• Mixing paint material as necessary to assist lead painter
• Assisting the lead painter during the job
• Helping in patching small areas that have been damaged due to leaks. Apply mud, sand prime and paint
• Larger painting jobs full rooms corridors, hallways etc
• Moving paint cans and supplies from floor to floor
• Fetching tools and taking other instructions as needed
• Remove old paint using a sandblaster or other tools
Employment requirements
• No formal education requirements. Completion of secondary school will be an asset.
• Some experience working under a painter would be an asset, No experience is necessary. On the job training will be provided.
• Very basic knowledge of English is required. No other language requirements.
• Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
• Skills with a variety of hand and power tools
• Attention to detail

Benefits
As per BC Employment Standards Act, 4% Vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation or 10 days of paid vacation with no vacation on each pay period. Transportation to and from the job location is provided at free of cost in company vehicle.
