Job Title: Truck Fleet Foreman

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Fleet Foreman/ woman to join our team and oversee the efficient operation of our truck fleet. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of truck maintenance and logistics.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of truck maintenance, including scheduling, repairs, and inspections.
  • Manage a team of drivers, mechanics, and support staff, providing guidance and supervision to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assign drivers to routes and monitor delivery schedules to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands.
  • Enforce safety regulations and compliance with local, state, and federal laws to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance and facilitate performance analysis.
  • Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement training programs for drivers and staff to enhance skills and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, fuel, and other supplies necessary for truck maintenance and operation.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and operational expenses.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, fleet management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in truck fleet management, including maintenance, dispatching, and personnel supervision.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements for commercial trucking operations.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and a clean driving record preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.
