Job description:
Family in L6E 1N5, Ontario is currently looking for a Personal Care Provider for a 69-year-old female senior. Please see the following employment information.
Job Details:
- Salary: $20.00 per hour, 30 hours per week.
- Overtime may be required.
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent-free.
- Work Location: Markham, ON L6E 1N5 (Near McCowan Rd and Major Mackenzie Dr E intersection).
Job Duties:
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals according to dietary requirements, and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes, and general tidying to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed when needed and monitor health conditions, reporting any changes in physical or emotional well-being to family members or medical professionals.
- Accompany the senior to medical appointments, community outings, or recreational activities as needed, providing physical and emotional support.
- Assist with exercises and physical therapy routines under the direction of a healthcare professional to maintain and promote mobility and independence.
- Provide companionship and engage the senior in conversation and stimulating activities to enhance emotional well-being and reduce isolation.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily routines, medication intake, and any notable incidents or observations.
- Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of the senior at all times.
Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary (High) School education is required.
- Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
- First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
- Must be friendly, patient, honest, and reliable.
