Job description:


We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation and a keen eye for detail. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for laying tiles in residential and commercial spaces, ensuring precision and quality in every project. You will work closely with clients and other tradespeople to deliver exceptional results that meet design specifications.

Duties

  • Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas, ensuring accurate dimensions.

  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives.

  • Lay tiles according to design plans, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.

  • Apply grout and caulk to finished tile surfaces for a polished look.

  • Read blueprints and project specifications to understand layout requirements.

  • Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to coordinate installation efforts.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, utilizing hand tools effectively.

  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the installation process.

Experience

  • Proven experience in tile laying or flooring installation is preferred.

  • Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in tile setting and general construction tasks.

  • The ability to read blueprints and understand technical drawings is essential.

  • Previous experience as a maintenance person or carpenter is a plus, providing a well-rounded skill set for the role.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work is required.
