Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours per day)
Compensation: $36.65 - $38.65 per hour

About the role

Go Victory Café is a social enterprise café that mentors and provides skills training for individuals facing barriers to employment. We’re seeking a hands-on Café Manager to lead daily kitchen, and café operations, and support a small team in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. At VCK, we seek out people for hire who reflect the mission and heart of our ministry. The successful candidate is motivated and organized individual who cares about managing as much as reaching the people with the Word of God.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily flow and execution of the kitchen and front-of-house café operations.
  • Manage dining room and barista station performance, ensuring hospitality and customer service standards are met.
  • Plan, prepare, and adjust the daily menu; coordinate all VIP meals, special events, and catering.
  • Train, coach, and support café and kitchen staff (including interns) while maintaining established standards of practice.
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and quality standards; meet and exceed all health department requirements.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory, and product rotation; manage costs and minimize waste.
  • Create and manage weekly staff schedules; supervise daily assignments and performance.
  • Support the mission of the café as a social enterprise by mentoring interns and team members to build employable skills.
  • Participate in café marketing activities as needed (e.g., being filmed for promotional content).

Other Tasks

  • Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits
  • Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
  • Evaluate daily operations
  • Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost

Employment conditions

  • Not a remote position. Candidates outside BC should be willing to relocate to Langley, BC.

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
