Job description:
Maya Hair Salon is currently looking for a permanent and full-time Hair Salon Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the hairdressing salon operations
- Establish or implement policies and procedures for hairdressing salon staff
- Plan and control budget and inventory
- Respond to inquiries or complaints and resolve problems
- Manage contracts for advertising or marketing strategies
- Hire, train and supervise staff
- Train and educate salon staff on Japanese/Asian hairstyling and hairdressing technique, for example but not limited to, Japanese straightening, Digital perm, Chemical theory behind it, and etc.
- Maintain and order supplies/hair products from Japan
Education, Skills and Experiences:
- A college diploma or vocational certificate - hairstyling, hairdressing or related field
- Two or more years of experience as a hairstylist or hairdresser
- Up-to-date knowledge of Japanese/Asian hair style trend and technique is strong asset
Language:
- English communication skills
Compensation:
$36.00 hour + tips, 4% vacation pay
