Our family at L6H 6E5 (Oakville, Ontario) is looking for a Personal Care Provider for an 87-year-old male senior.
The position is full-time.
The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evenings.
Salary: $21.00 per hour, 40 hours per week
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
Work Location: Oakville, ON L6H 6E5. Must work in employer's/client's home.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate would be an asset.
Job Duties:
- Provide bedside and personal care of the senior including but not limited to bathing, dressing, ambulation, feeding, and medication reminders
- Serve as a companion to the senior
- Select and prepare meals for the senior
- Have interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills
- Perform housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, keeping the room clean, laundry, etc.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the senior
- Keep proper care records and report changes to the family
- Keep good communication with the family and supervisors regarding the senior’s condition
- Administer first-aid or CPR to the senior when necessary
Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
